With Nerd and Fragment Berlin industrial designer David Geckeler directly confronts two current seating designs with one another to identify parallels and differences in design and concept. Each of these dissimilar designs pursues a design approach that finds its individual definition in each of the objects. The juxtaposition illustrates how the designer enacts process-oriented design in ways appropriate to the materials used: molded wood and sand-cast aluminum.
