Florence Knoll contributed with her furniture to shaping the functional  design of the 20th century and, with her ‘Knoll Planning Unit’, she significantly influenced interior design, setting standards to date. A student of Eliel Saarinen and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, together with her husband Hans Knoll, she headed the Knoll furniture company, having the final say  in all questions related to design..
